New Iranian president to address UN in New York

Iran’s foreign ministry has confirmed that Iranian President Hassan Rohani will travel to New York to take part in the UN General Assembly.

IRNA reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Wednesday September 4 that President Rohani will give a speech at the General Assembly and another speech on nuclear disarmament as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Zarif added that the Iranian president will also speak at the meeting of NAM foreign ministers.

The president’s agenda also includes meeting with Iranians who live abroad, according to the head of the foreign ministry.
