Dutch MPs call for release of Iranian Baha'i leaders
The Dutch Parliament has sent a letter to the Islamic Republic Parliament urging Iran to release seven detained Baha’i community leaders who have received a confirmed sentence of 20 years in prison from the Iranian judiciary.
Iran says Dutch statments "irresponsible"
A spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry has accused Dutch authorities of making "irresponsible statements" regarding the case of Zahra Baharami, the Iranian-Dutch woman who was hanged in Iran on January 29 for drug smuggling, after an initial arrest on security charges.
Dutch ambassador in Iran recalled to The Hague
The Netherlands has recalled its ambassador to Iran over the execution and burial of Iranian-Dutch citizen Zahra Bahrami. Dutch News quotes a foreign ministry official saying the ambassador will issue a formal protest to Iran’s foreign ministry before returning to The Hague this week.
Dutch government calls for investigation of Bahrami torture allegations
Dutch Foreign Minster, Uri Rosenthal assured his parliament today that he will pursue every channel to investigate allegations of torture in the case of Zahra Bahrami.
Rosenthal added that he will do all he can to have Bahrami’s remains returned to her family in the Netherlands.
The Dutch government has already frozen all contact with the Islamic Republic after the 45-year-old Iranian-Dutch citizen was hanged for drug charges, after initially being arrested for security reasons.
Netherlands rebuked for interference in Iran's domestic affairs
The Netherlands’ decision to break diplomatic contact with Iran over the execution of Zahra Bahrami amounts to interference in Iran internal affairs, a foreign ministry spokesman said Tuesday.
Ramin Mehmanparast admitted during a press conference that a number of Western countries have voiced objections to Bahrami’s execution, which was carried out January 29. But he dismissed their view that Iran had acted against a citizen of the Netherlands.

The Netherlands froze diplomatic ties with Iran following the execution of Iranian-Dutch woman yesterday for drug charges after initially arresting her for participation in anti-government protests.
Uri Rosenthal, the Dutch foreign minister expressed profound shock regarding the hanging of the 46-year-old Zahra Bahrami calling it “an act committed by a barbarous regime,” AFP reports.
Iranian-Dutch citizen sentenced to death in Iran
Iran has issued a death sentence on drug-related charges for Zahra Bahrami, the Iranian-Dutch citizen who was arrested in the protests of December 2009. The court sentence also includes “confiscation of her possessions, car and house.”
