Iran's Minister of Intelligence, Heydar Moslehi resigned from his position today without announcing the reasons for this action.
IRNA journalist arrested by Kurdistan intelligence
A reporter for the Iranian state new agency IRNA has been arrested in southwestern city of Sanandaj. IRNA reports that Manouchehr Tamri was arrested by “six unidentified individuals” in Sanandaj. “These individuals inspected Tamir’s home and confiscated his computer and laptop without providing any IDs,” IRNA writes.
Iranian parliamentary elections set for next March
Iran’s next parliamentary elections are set for March 2, 2012, the interior ministry has announced. The parliament also passed a law today requiring that parliamentary candidacy be restricted to people with e post-graduate degrees. Former MPs are exempted from this condition.

European-Iranian Commercial Bank may go under German sanctions
European-Iranian Commercial Bank (Eihbank) may come under European Union sanctions soon, a German daily reports. The Süddeutsche Zeitung daily reports that Germany has stopped its objections to imposing sanctions against the Europäisch-Iranische Handelsbank.
According to the reports German economy, treasury and foreign ministries have finally come to agreement over boycotting this bank.
